150 TPD Fully Automated Rice Milling Production Line

Project Description

Client Background: The client is a large grain-processing enterprise in Hunan Province, mainly engaged in the procurement, processing, and sale of high-quality indica rice. The original line had aged equipment with low milling and head rice yields, struggling to meet growing market demand for premium rice.

Challenge: The client needed a fully automated rice milling line with 150 TPD capacity. Key targets: head rice yield ≥ 68% (industry average ~62%) and milling yield at least 2 percentage points higher than the original line. They also wanted to greatly reduce reliance on manual labor and raise automation.

Solution: AmGrainTech supplied a complete milling line from cleaning to finished-product packaging: cleaning and de-stoning → husking → paddy-rice separation → multi-pass whitening → polishing → grading → color sorting → weighing and packaging. A new-type emery-roll whitener combined with an iron-roll air-blast polisher, integrated with an intelligent PLC system, delivers full-process automation. The whole line needs only four operators (traditional same-scale lines need 10–12).

Result: Operating data shows a head rice yield of 68%, exceeding expectations; milling yield improved by about 3 percentage points over the original line; labor cost down 30%. At current output and quality premium, full equipment investment is expected to be recovered within about two years. The project became a demonstration reference for domestic rice-milling upgrades.
